Before his recent retirement, Keith was a Director of a Multi-National Engineering Company. In 1996, he published a book entitled History of Chelford in the 19th Century. Further books, with his wife Mavis and others, are Chelford, A Cheshire Village published in 1999 and Chelford and its Neighbours published in 2001 . Keith also lectures in genealogy, is a volunteer guide at Quarry Bank Mill and a duty volunteer at The Alderley Edge Research Centre of the Family History Society of Cheshire.
